OP ART - REDEFINED

Op Art, also referred to as optical art, is a contemporary art style from the 1960s. It is essentially based on linear grid patterns and the aerial perspective - whereas dynamic or decorative visual effects are generated through the application of calculable geometric regularities of lines, areas or colour combinations. Important groundwork for the optical art movement was accomplished by the representatives of Futurism, Russian Constructivism and Bauhaus School.

In a joint effort, COGNOSCO and the graphic designer Christina Peil have redefined the optical art theme. The design of the graphic art has been derived from basic geometric forms and figures such as circles, lines, points or squares. The artwork can be displayed either individually or, alternatively, as diptychs or polyptychs. In addition to that, the artwork has 4 wall hanging fixtures - one on each side - thus, there are many exiting ways of combining and presenting your op artworks.

The op art graphics are offered in a great variety of forms and formats.  In the result you will receive individual and high quality design products made in Berlin.
